Hedgerow Funding
We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in bidding for funding for Phase 4 of our Hedgerow project which will take our project to April 2025.

As the May blossom appears in our hedgerows (here in the South of the county), we are delighted to tell you that CPRE Shropshire has been successful in bidding for a fourth year of funding for its Hedgerow Heroes project which will run until April 2025.
This means:
5km+ new hedgerow creation in the county
More 2-day hedgelaying workshops for beginners
A return of the popular 2-day coppice management workshops
Arts/creativity workshops around the theme of hedgerows
New for 2024 - two 1-day biochar workshops
A meadows & hedgerow day, in collaboration with Buglife the invertebrate charity
A field names walk and talk in the Clun Forest
Plus other walks/talks including a Zoom talk from Richard Negus, hedgelayer and author of Words from the Hedge: A Hedgelayer’s View of the Countryside published this spring.
We will be putting out a call for hedge sites in June so if you know of anyone seeking to plant a new native hedgerow, please put them in touch. There are some criteria involved.
We plant on a mix of community owned and farmed land or on smallholdings (not private gardens/drives).
All events and training opportunities will be announced on our website here: www.cpreshropshire.org.uk/hedgerow-project
If you would like to be on the shortlist of places for hedgelaying, coppice management or biochar, please email admin@cpreshropshire.org.uk
There may be a modest fee for some workshops.
This website will be updated when new information is available.
