That phrase was by Theodore Roosevelt. We are all now at a point in the development of the infrastructure of the UK where we can no longer stand by and do nothing. We must make the effort to do something to preserve what remains.
The effort that is needed to resolve most of the tasks that CPRE need to accomplish is relatively easy to do.
Take a topic like hedgerows. This requires a group of volunteers to plant new trees or lay old ones. Someone, that knows what they are doing, has organised the event. The volunteers follow the guidance. OK, the terrain may be difficult and the weather bad, but no one is making the effort more complicated.
When it comes to planning matters it is like walking a path of spinning plates. The only way to succeed is to be one step ahead all the time. The effort to achieve that can be immense. Those that are spinning the plates know most of the rules. Fortunately, CPRE has over many years acquired substantial knowledge. As you know, knowledge is power. CPRE is prepared to share that knowledge so you do not need to waste your effort.
Sharing is a two way thing. Do you have knowledge to share? Will you join us and help share the effort?
